Mild Renewal Serum contains hydroxy acids for skin exfoliation. Usually, aqueous hydroxy acids solution generates hydronium (H3O+) which is believed to lead skin stimulation. To reduce adverse skin reaction from hydronium, an innovative formulation without adding water is designed. Moreover, the hydroxy acids can remain their original neutral forms in oil phase which are better for skin absorption. Two hydroxy acids: caprylic salicylic acid and mandelic acid were selected due to their high lipophilicity. These LHAs (Lipophilic Hydroxy Acids) react mildly and effectively on stratum corneum. In addition, the oil-based serum contains several active ingredients for skin care. Such like unsaturated fatty acids from borage oil and tocotrienols from oryza sativa (rice) bran oil for antioxidation. Bisabolol also serves as excellent skin calming ingredient.
